PM Considers suing Prince Sisowat Thomico on Defamation

Head of the Royal Government of Cambodia said on October 17, 2005 that he was considering to file a law suit against Prince Sisowat Thomico, a member of royal dynasty on defamation.
The prince will be the 7th persons being sued by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, following the October 10, 2005 signing of additional provisions attached to the 1985 Treaty on Border Demarcation between the governments of Cambodia and Vietnam.


The recourse is viewed as a reaction to a recent interview given by Prince Sisowat Thomico to Voice of America in which the prince affirmed that Samdech Hun Sen has let Koh Tral and Koh Krachorkses islands fall to ( foreign nations) .
Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony on a Buddhist subject, Samdech Hun Sen said he would not only step down but also report himself to a judicial body for trial if he was found guilty of making Cambodian territory lost , before either national or international courts. (ends)
