Deputy prime minister H.E. Sar Kheng provides rice seed to farmers in Pursat province in anticipation of natural change for rice farming in the locality and fuel for water pumping machines in case of drought in late rice farming season.
H.E. Sar Kheng who is also co-Minister of Interior, accompanied by H.E. Suy Sem, Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy and other government officials went to the province last weekend to assess the speed of monsoon rice cultivation and hold talk with governor, deputy governors and farmers there.
The deputy prime minister also gave moto-bicycles to all commune councilors in the province to help facilitate the means of transportation in line with their duty activities. He highly appreciated the achievements made by farmers this year.
H.E. Chhay Sareth, Pursat governor reported that the rice cultivation achieved over 92 per cent out of the 100,000 hectares of arable planned for this year.
In addition to this, H.E Suy Sem and wife has personally funded the construction of a 2-storey school building which is completed, pending Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen to come and bless the opening for public use.(ends)
