King Organizes Kathinatean for Wat Phnom Vihear

Last weekend, His Majesty Samdech Preah Borom Neat Norodom Sihamoni , Samdech Oev and Samdech Mae organized Bon Kathinatean ( a Buddhist ceremony to make material offerings to Buddhist Monks ) at
Palace in Phnom Penh for monks at Wat Phnom Vihear in Tangkrasang commune, Batheay district, Kampong Cham province.
The Kingdom of Cambodia has adopted Buddhism as the national religion. As tradition, Cambodian monks would retreat for three months ending in October during the rainy season here.Bon Kathinatean is usually held across the country for one month.
The King offered 43 items of utensils and food to monks at the pagoda. (ends)
